The White Cube Series : No Show

The White Cube Series : No Show

Changing viewpoints and perspectives
on and in the former department store window Donau Ecke Ganghofer

September 2012 – May 2013

Starting with closing off the space by painting its windows, I gradually opened and closed viewpoints on the changing installation. Intuitively working, discovering and following the questions: What do I want to show? How much do I need to show? How casually can I direct the viewers attention?

The series found an end after more than seven months with the performance

No Show
Month of Performance Art Berlin 2013
May 11, 2013, 4 – 6 pm

Observing the outside from inside my window.
Acting and reacting „naturally“, for whatever that means.
No expectation on entertainment.

I change my position and my point of view on the public.
Move stuff around, write my thoughts on the window pane.
Paint the window, wipe paint away, open and close view points.

I go out and invite the public to do so as well, providing them with chalk paint and brushes.
The window pane that seperated the audience from performer and performance literally becomes an area for interaction.
